International Contest of Champions

This concerto is a unique occasion for the confrontation of two instruments that are extremely distant in terms of their sounding and - seemingly - equally distant in respect of their stylistics. It is about the pan flute - the instrument still somehow mysterious and exotic, though becoming more and more recognisable, and the violin, deeply rooted in our culture and in the consciousness of all music lovers.

The unusual formula of this musical contest, as inspired by the 19th century competitions of the most famous virtuosi, when the audience decided about who was going to bear the palm, makes this musical rendezvous the feeling of a sport-like sensation.

Firstly, the soloists present individually in classical, popular, film or ethnic repertoires. In the final of the concerto they combines their tones, making the audience experience extreme emotions, often euphoria!

The additional attraction of this musical "sparring" is the international cast:

  • DUMITRU HAREA (Moldova) - pan flute
  • ARTUR BANSZKIEWICZ (Poland) - violin
  • ANDRIJ MELNYK (Ukraine) - accordion
  • MARCIN ANTKOWIAK (Poland) - double bass
